Innate in each human soul is the humanitarian desire to help others and make the world a better place. Children are our future and every child deserves a future. This responsibility has been acknowledged by beauty queens and first ladies, presidents and CEO’s, and you and I.

For that reason with every sale we donate money on our collaborator non profit organization MAKE-A-WISH Greece

You don’t have to be Mother Theresa, Michelle Obama or Nelson Mandela to make a difference.
You just have to care.

Here are 3 reasons why children’s charities are a means to that end.

Reason #1: They are a reflection of a society’s heart

‘There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children.’ [Nelson Mandela]

The stats and numbers of chronic malnutrition in South Africa and the broader continent of Africa are staggering and on the rise. Globally there are 200 million children whose lives are at risk due to severe poverty and malnutrition. Charities take these stats and numbers seriously and put a face to each one of them.

Society as a whole has a responsibility to care for those around them. It is what makes us human. Children's charities become a portal to channel resources and make a significant difference.

Reason #2: They are a reflection of a society’s sacrifice

‘Let us reach out to the children. Let us do whatever we can to support their fight to rise above their pain and suffering.’ [Nelson Mandela]

The pandemic of poverty and malnutrition is a public health issue on a scale that can be overwhelming. Malnutrition/undernutrition includes stunting (low height for age), wasting (low weight for height), underweight (low weight for age) and micronutrient deficiencies or insufficiencies.

Each charity needs people like you and me. They cannot do it alone. Their mandate to change children's lives is dependent on individual and corporate contributions.

This will always require an element of sacrifice. And sacrifice and thinking outside our comfortable existence will cost us something. It may be time, money or resources. It may be large or small. But the rewards will far outweigh the cost, and the smile on a child’s face will be worth millions.

Reason #3: They are a reflection of a society’s hope

‘History will judge us by the difference we make in the everyday lives of children.’ [Nelson Mandela]

Every one of us seeks to leave a legacy of hope. By partnering with a children’s charity, this noble pursuit can be realised. You and I do not need to become victims of history's script. We may not be able to change all the world’s problems, but we should never underestimate the power and impact we can have. As illustrated in the ‘Starfish story,’ we, as individuals, may not be able to rescue all the starfish on the beach – but each of us can rescue one!

Each one of us has the capacity to offer hope to one child.
